I’ve always wanted to know how things work. Science is all about finding out how things work, so that was the obvious path to take. I started with physics because that tells us how the universe works at the most fundamental level. Once I know all of physics, I can move on to the next field of science. Unfortunately, that may take a while since there’s quite a lot of stuff to figure out.

      Hi Joris,

I’ve always liked taking things apart form a young age and knowing how things work.
Not so good at putting them back together again at that young age though. LOL
I got addicted to SCUBA diving when working in France and then my attention was turned to
      Biology.
Of course the other reason is a number of superhero’s were scientists, or student scientists.
Bruce Banner, Peter Parker, Dr Hank Pym (Ant Man)

My brother is quite a lot older than me. When I was quite young he was studying for his PhD and we got a tour of the lab where he was working. I remember looking at all the bottles and equipment on the benches and thinking this is what I want to be doing. So science was always my interest and, from University onwards, microbiology especially. I just love the challenge, problem solving, thinking and making sense of what you find putting it all into context. Just a great job.
